While this was cool and does lead to different endings, the choices in the game don’t leave as much of an immediate effect. Unlike Cole, Delsin loves having powers and acts the way a normal person would if they got powers. Delsin starts with smoke, and as he becomes familiar with his new powers, he raises the attention of the government-controlled DUP, who acts like an evil version of the TSA, hunting and eliminating conduits.ĭelsin is a much more relatable and likeable character than that of Cole from the first two games. Delsin learns he has the power to steal other conduits' powers and use them for his own benifit. One day, he gets superpowers from accidentally touching an injured conduit. Second Son stars Delsin Rowe, a young delinquent who has an artistic talent for spray painting, and a nasty habit for trouble and mischief with the law. The moral dilemma The story of past Infamous games has always revolved around what people do with the power and opportunities given to them, and Second Son is no different. The PS4’s power is used very well here making Second Son look and feel next-gen. The character models and facial animations are amazing, and are the best Sucker Punch has ever done. The city is also well populated with weather also adding to the environment, changing the mood of the city. Sucker Punch also nailed the look and vibe of Seattle, adding real landmarks and businesses to add to the immersion.

The world was created with next-gen in mind, making Second Son arguably the best looking title on PS4 so far. The colors are super vibrant and beautiful, and the amount of destruction within the world is staggering. First off, Second Son is an absolutely gorgeous game. The words "sh*t" and "b*tch" can be heard in the dialogue.Seattle in next-gen. Another cutscene contains a brief drug reference (e.g., "What happened, old guy slip you a roofie?"). During the course of the game, players can create their own missions and assign "drunk" characteristics (e.g., "Happy," "Sloppy") to non-playable characters in one cutscene, two men are depicted drinking beer until they fall asleep.
As the game progresses, players can explore a red-light district that contains advertisements infused with sexual references/innuendo (e.g., "Sex," "Live Nude Girls," "Erotic Peep Show," and "Latch It and Skank") some neon signs also depict silhouettes of pole dancers. In one comic book–style cutscene, a character uses a rifle butt to strike a civilian, resulting in a blood-splatter effect. Players have the ability to attack pedestrians wandering through the city and Bio Leech them while they are lying on the ground this electrical attack sucks the life out of the injured character. Combat is often frenetic and includes explosions, cries of pain, and brief blood splashes to indicate damage. From a third-person perspective, players roam around "open-world" environments and use element-based projectiles (e.g., lightning bolts, ice spikes, power grenades) to kill mutated monsters, animal-like creatures, and gun-toting soldiers.
